A number of treatments can be done together or on their own to reduce the appearance of scars depending what type of scar they are and where they are located. Though scarring from acne is the most commonly treated, scarring due to injuries can be done as well. Scars can take multiple sessions and sometimes may require one singular treatment or a variety of treatments to help target the problem.
Chemical Peels:
Not only are chemical peels amazing for anti-aging and over all skin health, but they are great at reducing scarring as well. With heavier peels such as the DMK resurfacing peel, the outermost layer of the skin is removed which can help bring down scarring significantly.
Microneedling (With Micropen or Morpheus8):
Microneedling alone can be an effective way to reduce scarring, but Morpheus8 may be needed for deeper scarring. Morpheus8 is a fractional rejuvenation treatment that combines the use of microneedling and radio-frequency to tighten skin. When the needles are placed into the skin, it allows the radio frequency energy to travel below the skin's surface by traveling down the needles and being dispersed into the lower layers. The result is a reduction in the appearance of discolouration and scarring.
CO2 Fractional Resurfacing:
CO2 Fractional Resurfacing is a skin renewal breakthrough that can revitalize the skin. The CO2 laser removes scarring by removing layers of the skin so new, undamaged skin can come to the surface in its place. CO2 fractional laser resurfacing is also an excellent treatment for past acne scarring.
Medical Grade Skincare: In combination with medical grade skincare, these treatments can even be more effective. There are medical grade ingredients in our products carried in the clinic that over time can help reduce the appearance of scars. Ingredients such as retinol, glycolic and AHA's are very successful in this which are in many of our product lines.
