What are chemical peels?
Chemical peels are a procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the top layers. Chemical peels loosen dead skin cells from the surface, encouraging deep exfoliation and ridding the skin of impurities. The result is diminished lines and wrinkles, smoother, firmer skin and smaller pores. Chemical peels are also great for active acne and acne scarring.
What type of peels do we offer?
We offer a variety of chemical peels depending on your skin care needs and goals. Peels often use blends or singular concentrations of salicylic acid, lactic acid, resorcinol, glycolic acid or citric acid to help accelerate the turn over skin cells. Our highly trained skincare technicians will help guide you through the process and help select which peel will be best for you.
What is the downtime?
Downtime will vary. Micro peels have minimal down time leaving you with a slight flushing of the skin. A higher concentration peel can shed the entire top layer of your skin, resulting in 3-5 days of active peeling. The more aggressive a peel is, the more dramatic results you will have.
